To verify products and support public health reporting, we collect:

• Verification data: barcode scans, search queries, and registration numbers you submit for verification.
• Optional community contributions: drug images, purchase prices, and pharmacy locations you choose to share.
• Approximate location (Optional): collected only when you perform a verification or voluntarily submit community data, to help identify regional counterfeit activity.
• Device information: app version, operating system, device model, crash logs, and an anonymous device identifier, used for security and performance monitoring.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information above to verify products against FDA Ghana registration records, identify patterns of counterfeit distribution, maintain and improve app performance and stability, and prepare aggregated reports that may be submitted to the appropriate regulatory authorities.

3. Legal Basis

We process your information based on your consent (for optional community contributions and location data), our legitimate interest in protecting public health and preventing counterfeit distribution, and compliance with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We only share information when necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, protect users from fraud, or when required by law.

5. Data Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel, and we regularly review our security practices.

6. Data Retention

We retain verification and community-contribution data for as long as necessary to support public health reporting and app functionality, or until you request deletion. Device and crash logs are retained for a limited period for security auditing.

7.Children's Privacy

MedVerify is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent for optional community contributions or location sharing at any time.
